Diego Busiol is an Italian psychoanalyst, psychotherapist, and psychologist working in Hong Kong. He completed his doctoral and postdoctoral studies at the City University of Hong Kong, where he teaches an interdisciplinary subject “Psychology for Young Specialists”. He completed his clinical training at the postgraduate studies of the School of Psychotherapy – Freudian Laboratory for Psychotherapeutic Formation in Milan. He graduated in psychology from the University of Turin and worked as an educator in psychiatry. He has taught at HELP University in Kuala Lumpur, within the Psychoanalytic Society in Hong Kong and the Association for Asian Studies (ASAHK), at the Baptist University and the Polytechnic University in Hong Kong, as well as at Shue Yan University. His clinical work areas include anxiety, panic, anorexia, depression, psychosomatic disorders, addictions (internet, drugs), suicidality, and parental relationships.
He is the editor of the anthology Lacanian Psychoanalysis in Practice: Introductions by Fourteen Psychoanalysts (Routledge, 2021) and author of Psychoanalysis in Hong Kong: Absent, Present, and Re-established (Routledge, 2018).
