Shynia Ogasawara is a psychoanalyst, psychiatrist, and director of the Tokyo Lacan School. He graduated in medicine from Nagoya University. He studied psychoanalysis at the Department of Lacanian Psychoanalysis, University of Paris VIII – Vincennes-Saint Denis and in London.
He is the author of numerous works on issues of psychoanalysis in Japan, the possibilities of conducting psychoanalysis in the Japanese language, apophatic ontology as the foundation of psychoanalysis, the influences of globalization on the Japanese language, and healthcare in Japan.
